Commentary
The breath that comes from within becomes air in a far away land, rising to the sky.
Air on Air is a hands-on installation series that generates such strange scenes.
When you blow into the mic, the information is released into the sky as a bubble in a remote site.
With this new Air on Air [forest/sea/city], you can see in real-time on a screen how the bubbles that come from your breath float up over a mountain, or a sea, or somewhere in the city.
This work, born thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, offers an opportunity to reflect on the existence of things we cannot see, such as air and wind as even when movement is restricted, there is a connection between our physical selves and the world spreading out beyond the screen.
