Commentary
In the social VR world that has become popular lately, you can enjoy changing your own avatar freely, from pretty girls to space aliens.
Sometimes, the virtual body feels more like yourself, such as you feeling younger, as you put your VR body into this space.
Moreover, the body, which in VR space you can control freely, is constrained by physical limitations like bumping into walls or being unable to bend its arms, so gradually, the physical, biological body starts to feel like an encumbrance.
The Virtual Control, where Katsuki Nogami appears, is a performance-style work that attempts to resist the situation where the sense of the body is encroached upon.
While making use of the bizarre warping created between the physical and real spaces, he questions the direction of new physical identities through the act of challenging oneself to somehow control one's own VR body.
