Tomoko Hashida Laboratory, Intermedia Art and Science, Fundamental Science and Engineering, Waseda University
This presents four works themed on “Neighbors to Bugs” inspired by the phenomenon of bugs.Normally, bugs are seen as digital errors, but sometimes they can bring about new discoveries or values.The common notions and possibilities of the body are challenged by reusing and expanding, not fixing, the various bugs around us in the natural world and people.

The walking assistance robotic wear, “curara,” was developed jointly with AssistMotion, a venture company from Shinshu University.They have developed a robot that can be worn like clothing in order to achieve a society where everyone can freely walk using their own feet.The “curara" service and an image of a future where as many people as possible can use it on a daily basis are presented at the exhibition venue. There are also events that allow visitors to experience the actual device.

About SusHi Tech Square
The facility will be used as a space to communicate and implement new ideas in an integrated manner to promote SusHi Tech Tokyo1st floor “Space”
- This will offer an area for free activity with rich creative content such as the “Real World Only” space for experiential media art.
- It will feature exhibits on the legacy of the Tokyo 2020 Games
- Hands-on exhibits introducing the rich natural environment and wildlife of Tokyo will also be included
- A plaza surrounded by the above exhibits will serve as a unique venue for workshops, lectures, project pitches, etc.2nd and 3rd floor “Tokyo Innovation Base”
- This will be a base for startups and other diverse groups to interact and innovate through exchange and implementation.
